Abstract

Through the relationship that each society establishes with its religiosity, my intention in this work is to try to explain that the cultivation techniques collected in Roman treatises were always determined by agricultural calendars, based in astronomical knowledge passed from one generation to the next, evident in the works and days of Hesiod in 7th Century Greece. These almanacs are found, in one way or another, in all Roman Geoponica Literature, and were described and explained, specifically, since Varro wrote in the 1st Century B.C. Although it will not be until after the 4th Century, with the success of Palladius’ work, when they acquire the special relevance that impact on present time.
